2011 Gala Information for Choir Families

Choir Families - This is YOUR Gala!  We need you to join the party and help us put on a fantastic fundraiser, with an emphasis on FUN.  Here is how you can help:

Attend the Gala

Come with a loved one, or get a group of friends together.  Tickets for both individuals and entire tables will go on sale in January.  Watch for your invitation in the mail!

Donate goods or services

We are focusing this year on fine dining, wine, getaways, and unique experiences.  Here are some of the things we'd love for you to donate, either personally, or using your "connections": use of a vacation home or time-share; bottles of wine; unique experiences, such as a wine and cheese cruise on your sailboat, a tea party complete with croquet and crumpets, seats in a luxury box at the ballpark, a privately catered dim-sum party for ten, a behind-the-scenes tour somewhere exciting, a scenic air tour of the Bay... the sky is the limit!  Or donate your own personal services and expertise, offering your professional skills as a landscape architecht, tax attorney, tennis pro, portrait artist, sculptor, dog trainer, interior designer, etc.

Get your employer or business to donate

Extol the virtues of community support by hooking your business up with a worthy recipient for a tax-deductible donation.  We will gladly accept goods or services for the auction, but will also be signing up area businesses as event underwriters.  Business sponsors will enjoy a whole range of benefits that will help connect them with new and existing customers.  Contact Marion Atherton for info.

Give us a lead to a business that might be willing to donate

Is there a local merchant whom you could ask to make a (tax-deductible!) donation of a special gift or service? An elegant dinner? A spa package? A set of fashionable luggage? A brand-new Land-Rover? [Never hurts to ask!] If you have a business in mind, especially one that you frequent as a customer, please let us know so we can make sure to get it on our list of prospective donors. We may even invite you to help maker our approach, but do let us coordinate the process so your efforts are not duplicated.

Join our Auction Team

  • Donor liaisons: Our main task is to contact past donors to ask them to donate once again this year.  Many of these contacts can be made by phone.  The good news is that we have ready everything you could possibly need to entice folks into supporting the choirs, including brochures, letters, and scripts.  Whether you can help us to contact two donors or twenty-two, you will be helping a great deal.  Contact matherton@piedmontchoirs.org for info.
  • Event Volunteers: There are plenty of ways to help out at the Gala event itself, including auction prep, set-up and decoration, silent auction management, check-out, and clean-up.  Contact the Choir office for info.
Whether you donate goods or services to the auction, visit the auction online to take advantage of the tremendous variety and incredible bargains, or simply bring your friends to the Gala, you can be a part of the biggest event of the season. It's a great time for a great cause!
