Parent Responsibilities
Students cannot succeed in the Piedmont East Bay Children's Choir, or in any worthwhile learning or extra-curricular activity, without their parents’ on-going, active support. In enrolling a student with us, parents are asked to pledge that they will do the following:
1. Familiarize themselves with the policies and expectations contained in the current Member Handbook and in the Member Area of the Choir's website.
2. Ensure that their singer gets to and from all scheduled rehearsals, performances, and other choir events reliably and on time, outfitted with his/her music, uniform, and other items as appropriate.
3. Notify the office in advance if their child will be late to or absent from a rehearsal.
4. Stay up to date by carefully reviewing communications from the choir office, including “gig sheets” (performance and event details) and the weekly Friday Email.
5. Keep up with their family’s financial obligations to the Choir.
6. Visit their family’s online registration profile regularly, keeping it accurate and up to date through the year.
7. Help their singer to learn and practice his/her music and lyrics at home.
8. Support their child by organizing family and friends to join them at his/her performances.
9. Ensure that their child’s uniform fits properly, and is clean and complete for all performances.
10. Assist in some capacity during the choir year as a parent volunteer.
11. Support and cooperative with the music and administrative staff in their carrying out of the Choir's policies and procedures.
