Heather Saulnier received her BA from Hasting College with a double major in Theater and English. She was influenced throughout her life by her experiences as a musician and performer in her formative years. Her instruments were voice and flute and she will be forever thankful for the choir scholarship that helped pay her way through college. Her tapestry of employment moved from costume, set, lighting technician, adult special needs assistant, theater arts teacher,  then took a radical turn into the restaurant industry as a bar and service manager. She has helped open numerous San Francisco restaurants and bars finally settling into management and bookwork at her family restaurant 900 Grayson. She was drawn to Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir by her child’s desire to sing in a choir. Herself being the child of a composer she was especially delighted by the choir’s commitment to commissioning new pieces and incorporating the young singers as participants in the process. She finds choral tradition is a wonderful way of building a solid foundation through art.
