Kelly Kirkpatrick is a community volunteer, organizer, and fundraiser in the East Bay and has lived in Oakland for 15 years to also create and raise her family with her husband, Peter Fiske. She joined the Board in 2018 after years of volunteering and informally advising the PEBCC team. She has organized events to strengthen the choir’s parent and student community and spearheaded a few homestay projects for the Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir, including the 2018 Golden Gate International Choral Festival. Her daughters, Elizabeth and Alexandra Fiske, who currently sing in the performing department, have been joyfully singing in the Choir since 2013, thanks to the persistence of then babysitter and PEBCC alumnus Tony Calabrese who insisted they audition. Kelly’s professional background includes a PhD in Materials Science from Northwestern University, a stint in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, 2 years on Capitol Hill, and 3 years in research administration at Columbia University and Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM.
