Featured Artists: Young Voices of the Philippines

We are delighted to highlight the Young Voices of the Philippines as our special guest artists for the Golden Gate Festival 2026!

The Young Voices of the Philippines (YVP) is one of the scholar choirs currently performing under the Treble Choir Association of the Philippines (TCAP), Inc., notably featuring young Filipino choristers from various social backgrounds under the choral program of their founders, Dr. Maria Theresa Vizconde Roldan and Jude B. Roldan.

In 2023, YVP made history by becoming the first choir from the Philippines to perform at the prestigious Carnegie Hall's Isaac Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage. In addition to this historic performance in the USA, YVP also won multiple first prizes at the 12th Golden Gate International Choral Festival USA. The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) awarded YVP the 2024 ANI NG DANGAL (Harvest of Honors). This award is given to artists and cultural workers who have earned the top international awards and accolades and whose works and achievements have placed the Philippines among the best in the world. In May 2024, YVP sang at the inaugural World Children’s Day in Rome and had the privilege to sing and bless Pope Francis in Da Piazza San Pietro, Udienza Generale del Santo Padre.

YVP is on a mission to promote the rich heritage of Filipino music and culture to the world. They have recorded and premiered works of Filipino composers, including "KATHA," a collection of Filipino Folksongs for Treble Choirs. YVP has led national and international choirs in festivals like Sing As One, Lux Spei (Light of Hope), and Bisita at Awit ng Pag-asa, a choral pilgrimage. To expand this initiative, YVP has established the Young Voices of the Philippines Festival Choir, the Young Voices of Asia, and the Young Voices of the World. In addition to these partnerships, YVP has collaborated with Jesuit Music Ministry | Jesuit Communications to produce a liturgical choral series for treble choirs. This collaboration earned them the prestigious AWIT AWARDS for Best Recording By a Child or Children for two consecutive years, 2023 and 2024.

YVP has proven that their skill is a result of effort and dedication. The Philippine Choral Directors Association featured YVP in a premiere spotlight at the 2022 PCDA National Convention. They have been invited to perform at festivals around the Philippines, the USA, Europe, and Asia. YVP's commitment to excellence has made them a highly respected and sought-after ensemble. These children who would not have otherwise met have their lives intersect with the beauty of music-making. As a church and community choir, YVP proudly upholds TCAP's vision of promoting the growth and development of Philippine choral music. YVP sings regularly at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral of Cubao.
