Jesse Micek

Jesse Micek has a vast array of experience working with choirs of the San Francisco Bay Area. He currently serves as accompanist for the Oakland Symphony Chorus and the Piedmont East Bay Children’s Chorus. Previously, he was the collaborative pianist for Berkeley Community Chorus, Chora Nova, Chabot College Choir, Blackhawk Chorus, and the Danville Girls Chorus. Mr. Micek is the Director of Music Ministries at Trinity Presbyterian Church in San Carlos, where he leads the choir and praise band. Beyond his work as a performer, he was a faculty member of the Chabot College music department from 2020-26. Since 2009 he has operated a piano teaching studio at his home in Castro Valley. A member of the Music Teachers Association of CA (MTAC), he is a former President of the Southern Alameda County Branch of that organization. He graduated magna cum laude from Cal State East Bay with a B.A. in classical piano performance. When not working with choirs or as an educator, he is an occasional composer, occasional jazz musician, and an occasional bassist and singer with the rock band Droneyard.
