Nancy Linford

Nancy Linford, conductor of Girls’ Training 4 and Boys Training 2, brings a lifelong love of singing and an especial fondness for children’s voices to the Piedmont Choirs.  A Bay Area native, she has enjoyed witnessing and being a part of the growth of the Choirs providing opportunities for children that she would have relished as a child.  After teaching in the Kodály Master’s program at Holy Names University for one year, Nancy is happy to return to the training department where she previously conducted GT3 and BT2.  Nancy holds a Master’s of Music Education with Kodály Emphasis from Holy Names University, a BA in vocal performance from UC Santa Cruz, a K-12 music teaching credential, and Level III Orff certification. For fifteen years she taught elementary vocal music in Hayward and Piedmont Unified and currently teaches at her local school in Albany.  Previously, Nancy also taught in San Francisco and Oakland, the latter through Cantare Con Vivo, whose Chamber Ensemble she sang with during that time.  She loves bell ringing, formed hand bell ensembles at her San Francisco and Piedmont schools, and continues to ring in an ensemble for her own pleasure.
